Obituary for Mark Parkinson

Mark Parkinson
Mark passed away Saturday, December 11th after a lengthy and inspirational negotiation with cancer. He was 53. He died peacefully with his family by his side. Mark was VP of Human Resources and was with Maple Leaf Foods for over 30 years. Beloved husband of Carrie (Fraser) for three decades. Loving father of Matthew (Jessica) of Toronto and Mick of Burlington. Much loved son of Jo Parkinson and the late Lorne and son-in-law of Don and Noelle Fraser. Dear brother of Scott (Tara) of Calgary, Keith (Melanie), Nancy Carson (Dan), Lori Boucher (Dan) all of Burlington, adored brother-in-law of Craig Fraser (Katie) of Burlington and Brad Fraser of Mexico and respected life-long friend of Kevin Golding (Leigh) of Guelph. The family would like to acknowledge the incredible care and love provided by Dr. T.B. Costin and Noelle Fraser. They made the difficult journey possible with their seemingly never-ending support and selflessness. We also want to thank Dr. P Ellis, Dr. Whitten and their amazing teams including Sally, Christine and Teresa at the Juravinski Cancer Centre. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Raphael's Roman Catholic Church 4072 New Street, Burlington on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Mark's Life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333) also on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 1 p.m. In light of all the amazing people (friends and strangers alike) that helped Mark and his family in this difficult year, we would ask that you perform a random act of kindness for a cancer patient, or make a donation to your local food bank.
