KOOY, Maria (nee VanBenten)
Passed away peacefully, in her 86th year, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 with husband Jack and daughter Emily by her side. Beloved wife of Jack for 59 years. Loving mother of Marianne and her husband Ken Drake and Emily and her husband Steve Nielsen. Cherished Omi of six grandchildren; Debbie, Kathie, Kent, Charlene, Jamie, Jackie and fourteen great-grandchildren; Jacob, Shyanne, D.J., Mitchell, Trevor, Meredith, Austin, Meagan, Adam, Hailey, Sam, John, Johnny, Shannon. Dear sister of Jan, Corry, Tina, and Mieke. Predeceased by her parents Jan and Augusta VanBenten and siblings Willie, Johanna, Anna, Trees, Guus and Nini. Cremation. Private family arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guardian Angels at St. Joseph`s Hospital, Hamilton would be sincerely appreciated by the family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Burlington firefighters Doug Pemberton and Russ Bilton, and to the team of the Trauma Unit at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital.
