Surrounded by her family, it is with heartbreak and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Margaret Jane “Maggie” on September 4, 2017, in Abbotsford, BC. Cherished mother of Brenda (Richard), Michelle (Joe) and Jodi (Greg). Much loved sister of Barbara (Joe), Edna (late David) Edward (Judy) and Jack (Vicki). Predeceased by her parents Kathleen (2004) and Edward Thomas Maude (1988). Survived by her husband Jim and stepson Robert.

Will be missed by 8 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren. A special aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many friends and relatives in British Columbia, Ontario, UK and Ireland.

Maggie was a long-time member of the Aldergrove Vineyard Church and instrumental in developing the Pancake Breakfast for less fortunate people. A Celebration of Life was held at the church on Sunday, September 24, followed by a pancake breakfast.

Family and friends will be received at SMITHS FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of the QEW) Burlington (905-632-3333), on Saturday October 21, 2017 from 12:00 noon until a Celebration of Margaret’s Life, beginning at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Private cremation has taken place. Interment at Everton Cemetery on Sunday October 22, 2017 at 1:00pm, open to family and friends.

For those who wish, donations to the Aldergrove Vineyard Church– Pancake Breakfast, Mission Services, or any other charity supporting the less fortunate.
