Obituary for Lorna Elizabeth Tranter (Lambert)
Passed away peacefully on February 10th 2016 at the age of 91. Predeceased by her beloved husband Bill, brother James R Lambert, brother Bruce and his wife Doreen, and nephew Jim Tranter. Dearly loved mother of Julia, David and John (Janet). Precious grandmother of Meghan (Daniel), Alex (Leslie), Shane (Monique), Ryan (Amy) and Scott (Monica). Adored great grandmother of Ruby, Ezra, Liam, Dylan, Bailey, Denali, Stella, Emma and Sophia. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, sister in law Judy Lambert, extended family and friends. Her greatest gift was her ability to make everyone feel welcome, acknowledged and special. She won the Volunteer of the Year Award for Ontario, graduated from McMaster University with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work in her middle years while continuing to work fulltime. Lorna served on and chaired numerous charitable organizations. She was a volunteer extraordinaire and was one of the founding members of the committee bringing music concerts to Grimsby through the Jeunesse Musicale program. Lorna was an avid Golfer and Bridge player. We know she is now in a place where her radiance and warmth will be appreciated by all. In keeping with Lorna’s wishes cremation has taken place and an internment with family will take place at a later date. Please consider a donation in her memory to the Kidney Foundation of Ontario, the Diabetes Association or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
