Spence, Lillie (Lillian)-

Promoted to Glory on Friday, March 18, 2011, in her 69th year. Loving and cherished sister of Harold (Monique) Spence, Len (Brenda) Spence, Bob (Cathy) Spence, Lorry (Stephen) Clark and Nancy Taylor (Ron Hewitt). Will also be greatly missed by Aunt Lilian Hadsley. She also leaves behind her special nieces and nephews, Cynthia (Theodori), Suzy (Paul), Sean (Kristen), Michelle (Jason), Jeff (Carrie), Greg (Brande) and Kim as well as her sweet great nieces and nephews, Cameron, Jordan, Brock, Kate, Jacob and Alexander. She will also be fondly remembered by Raymond Galletti and Rodney Galletti and his family. Lil was born and raised in Grimsby Beach and spent many wonderful years serving her Lord as an officer of The Salvation Army in Africa, Jamaica, Bermuda and in Canada. She continued to be an active member of the St. Catharines Corp of The Salvation Army after her retirement. A very special thank you to the home care nurses who watched over our sister during the past months. Your genuine concern and compassion was appreciated so much. As well, a special thank you to everyone at McNally House for keeping her as safe and as comfortable as possible. Lil also had special friends that made her days full and enjoyable, thank you so much for the telephone calls, many cards and countless visits. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at 11 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army, St. Catharines or McNally House would be appreciated by the family.
