Munro, Kathleen Ruth Sibbald nee: Lloyd (Barber)
Born February 24, 1923 in Athabasca, Alberta. Passed gently on February 29, 2016. Predeceased by her dear Mum Kathleen Sibbald and her Dad Leonard Lloyd, her loving husband Fred Barber, sister Bea and brother Ben, her son Fred and beautiful granddaughter Alyssa. She will be missed by her daughters Patty Ito (Bill), Rebecca Murphy (David), Nephew Ted McCollum (Sharon). A special Gummy to her grandchildren Mark (Wendy), Dana (Ian), Taryn (Stan), Mandy (John), Tammy (Phil) and Kaleigh. Great grandchildren - Kylie, Kathryn, Maddie, Hallie, Joshua, Caden & Jordyn. Nieces and Nephews - John, Barb, Kathy, Tanja, Angie and Ted Jr. Kay lived in Woodstock, ON for many years. She was very proud to be a great, great granddaughter of Susan Mein Sibbald a pioneer from Scotland whose strength and determination and love of family sustained her in this rugged new life in Jackson's Point, ON. Kay possessed many of the same adventurous qualities. Kay enjoyed many years as the General Manager of both the Baltimore Hotel in Cobourg and the Tamahaac Club in Ancaster and also a member of Hamilton Mountain Probus. A special thank you to the staff at Alexander Place whom she loved. A Celebration of Life will be held at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Drive in Burlington on Saturday, March 12 at 2 pm. Reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Food Voucher Program at Port Nelson United Church or Make A Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
