SNELLING, Joyce Eileen - Our beloved mother passed away suddenly on May 2, 2011 at the age of 85. Joyce was the proud mother of David Turner and Bill, Tom & Peter Snelling, and grandmother to eleven wonderful and much loved grandchildren. Joyce was married to Bill Snelling (deceased 2008) for 50 years and to Ron Turner (deceased 1955). She was the eldest of 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She was well-known for her ability to feed a crowd and cook the perfect roast, the remains of her "neat scotch" the secret gravy ingredient. Joyce worked for much of her life at Eaton's as well as The Robert Simpson Company. She valued straightforward communication, hard work, frugality, solitaire, grilled cheese with ketchup, and nice cup of tea. She was much loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Friday, May 6, 2011 beginning at 12:00 pm followed by a service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
