Peacefully, with family by his side, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Justine. Loving father of Terry Pertak (Valia) and Irene Avelar (Joe). Dear Dido of Jason Avelar (Julie), Sherri Martin (Matt), Jennifer, and Evan Pertak and great Dido of Joia and Tessa. He will be remembered by many family in the Ukraine. Joseph was an active member of St. George's Church, Grimsby and a retired employee of Slater Steel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 19 Ontario Street, Grimsby, on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.
