Peacefully, at St. Joseph`s Hospital, Hamilton, on Friday, February 10, 2006 at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Barbara Anne of 40 years. Loving father of Lisa Couture of Burlington. Dearest brother of Peter Couture and his wife Georgina of Burlington, Michael Couture of Hamilton and Jean Nardini and her husband Joe of Stoney Creek. Joseph is predeceased by his parents Cecil and Jean Couture. He began his career of journeyman electrican with Dynes Electric, Hamilton for 25 years then with Laurel Steel, Burlington, he also was a volunteer fireman with #4 Appleby Station from 1969 as Lieutenant, promoted to Deputy Fire Chief in 1980 and retired in 1998. Member of IBEW Local 105 for 44 years and longtime member of CNIB and Canadian Council of the Blind. Special thanks to Dr. A. Ingram, nephrologist, nurse clinician, Anne Marie, all staff of Progressive Care and 3rd floor nephrology staff, Dialysis Centre of St. Joseph`s Hospital. Also thanks to home care nurse Carol, PSW Karen, Ildie and Lee, Palliative Care Specialists with Joseph Brant Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Mass will be Celebrated at St. Paul The Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington, on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to the Kidney Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
