Passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Audrey Espey and son of the late John H and Kate Paterson of Rodney. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marjorie McCorriston of Tottenham, nephews Douglas and Laurie McCorriston of Bolton, Brian and Andrea McCorriston of Severn Bridge, Donald McCorriston of Cookstown and great-uncle of Samantha, Callan, Elizabeth, Thomas and Jennifer. He will be missed by many cousins, especially the McGill family. John was a long-time member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Oakville. John was a retiree of the Ford Motor Company in Oakville. The family would like to thank all of John’s friends at Â"2055" for their many visits and support, and to the nursing staff of 6 South at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for their outstanding care while John was hospitalized. We have lost a true gentleman. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where a Funeral Service will take place on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1 pm. Cremation to follow.
