Obituary for Jeannie Scott Bloor (King)

Jeannie Scott Bloor (King)
BLOOR, Jeannie Scott (nee King)
July 30, 1930 - February 23, 2016
On February 23, 2016 in her 85th year, peacefully surrounded by her family at Joseph Brant hospital, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannie. Loving and devoted wife to the late Kenneth for 66 years (April 2, 2015). Dearest Mum to Beryl (David) Cooper, Nana to Lee-Ann (Ted) O’Neill and Great Nana to Mackenzie and Kian. Remembered by family and friends in Canada and U.K. Jeannie was born in Methilhill, Fife, Scotland, a welcome girl amongst her brothers. Hardworking at an early age, her busy hands have done many tasks…cleaning as a housemaid, painting chinaware in the Potteries, England, carrying heavy trays as a waitress at The Hamilton Club, embroidering pieces of family heirlooms, sewing and other tasks. Her love of nature was strong, watching numerous TV shows she would always talk about what she had seen that day and how we should all learn from nature. A proud Scottish lady she shared many memories of her life in Scotland. At 19 years of age she moved to England as a young bride. Twice in her lifetime her family has shared 4 generations of females. She has left a legacy of deep love, respect and strength. Throughout many health struggles over many years she continually fought to carry on. Thank you to her many caring P.S.W’s, especially Sari. Also the wonderful support she received from Acclaim Health and March of Dimes. Let your wings fly now, you are free to join your darling Ken. We will miss you dearly and are thankful for the wonderful memories that your family and friends will cherish. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Private Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton. Donations if desired, would be appreciated to help support Acclaim Health - Bereavement Support Services. 2370 Speers Rd, Oakville, ON L6L 5M2 www.acclaimhealth.ca
