WEAVER, James McGowan -
Peacefully, at Burloak Long Term Care, Burlington, went to be with his Lord on Thursday April 7, 2011, Jim Weaver, in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Annabelle Weaver. Loving father of Wendy Willson and her husband Tod of Evanston, Illinois. Jim was born in Brantford and raised in New Zealand. He met his wife Annabelle at Canadian Keswick in Muskoka, they married June 19, 1948 and moved to Burlington shortly after that. Jim was a founding member of Shoreacres Bible Chapel, which started in their home in March of 1959, and he served as elder for many years. He was the Past President of the Welding Society and he taught at Mohawk College until his retirement at age 70. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Interment will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Woodland Cemetery, Hamilton at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at Shoreacres Bible Chapel, 370 Shoreacres Road, Burlington at 11 a.m. Luncheon to follow at the church. If desired, expressions of sympathy to Missionary Service Committee Canada or Shoreacres Bible Chapel â" Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
