Macfarlane, Dr. James Wallace "Wally" M.D., B.A.
Peacefully, at Maple Villa Long Term Care Centre in Burlington, on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Tebby) Macfarlane (nee Lepard). Loving father of John Macfarlane and his wife Patricia of Waterdown, Annabelle Cooper and her husband Nicky of Toronto, Kathryn Macfarlane of Brantford, and Bill Macfarlane of Burlington. Loved grandfather of Taunya, Jason, Jessie, Maegan, Sarah, Jennifer, Dylan and Spencer and great-grandfather of Jaden, Spencer, Chad and Chantelle. Dearest brother of Grace Swan and her husband Andy of North Hatley, Quebec, Andrina Carlton of Dundas and Blakely Macfarlane and his wife Betty of Hamilton. Wally graduated from MacMaster University in 1938 and received his medical degree from the University of Toronto. He then served overseas as Captain with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp from 1942-1946. He enjoyed practicing family medicine from his home on Locust Street in Burlington from 1947-1995. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Saturday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Luke`s Anglican Church, 1371 Elgin Street, Burlington, on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
