Obituary for James David Kidd

Passed suddenly at his residence on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the age of 92. Predeceased by his beloved wife Ellen Kidd (nee Jones) (2007). Loving father of Carolyn Morris (Drew) and Heather Finnamore (Joe) and the late David Kidd. Cherished Bumpa of Sean (Cori), Kim (Tom), James (Hazel), Sara and Michael and Bumpa the Great to Finn, Rohan, Cooper, Ethan, Charlotte, Jackson, Harrison and Lacey. Jim was a proud Canadian and a WWII Veteran, serving with the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion. He retired from a lengthy sales career with C.I.L in Montreal. He lived and worked for 10 years in Greensborough, North Carolina where upon his second retirement Jim & Ellen returned closer to family in Belleville. Jim had moved to Burlington to be closer to family last year. He loved to play golf, take trips to visit family and was an avid reader.
As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Heritage Place, 4151 Kilmer Drive, Bungalow #9, Burlington on Tuesday, September 6th from 6pm to 8pm.
Interment of his ashes will be held at Belleville Cemetery (Kidd niche) on Friday September 9th at 2pm. A gathering of family and friends at the Bay of Quinte Country Club will follow.
Those wishing to make a donation in his memory are asked to please consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
