Obituary for James "Jim" Morrison

James "Jim"  Morrison
Born in Hamilton,Ontario, James (Jim) Nelson Morrison, at 83 years of agepassed away peacefully at Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario on June 8, 2016. Jim and Jackie married young and had 6 children within a span of 9 years. Jim began his teaching career at the age of 20 in Burlington, retiring as a superintendent with the Halton District School Board. Jim’s family was his pride and joy as father of Lynn Toye (John), Dale Morrison Guerra - predeceased 2013 (Remo), Paul – predeceased 1957, Dawn Doherty (John), Craig (Rosemary) and David (Ann). Cherished grandfather of 15 and great-grandfather of 4.
Longtime resident of Aldershot, Jim was a former member of Burlington Lions, curler at the Burlington Golf & Curling Club and longtime member of the Sparrow Lake Cottagers Association. Jim enjoyed many sunny winters in Venice, Florida and summers at Sparrow Lake.
A formidable card player, longtime fishing enthusiast, traveller and dedicated Blue Jays fan, Jim had a gift for making friends with his engaging smile and quick sense of humour. He was a gifted storyteller and had the unique ability to make everyone feel special.
Jim led a rich, colourful, and interesting life. Our lives will be a lot less interesting without him.
Private cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 12th (3-6 pm) at:
