Obituary for Jack Alfred Cowman

COWMAN, Jack Alfred - Passed away on January 29, 2005. Beloved husband of Mae (Harrison). Father of John, wife Maureen; Colleen, husband Patrick Gill; and James, wife Kathryn Osborne. Poppa to Peter, Alexander and Shane; Letitia, Thomas and Robert; Caroline and Benjamin. Jack was a member of Acacia Lodge #61, A.F. & A.M., G.R.C., and Honorary Member of the Supreme Council of Canada of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, 33rd Degree and a past Most Wise Sovereign of the Hamilton Sovereign Chapter of Rose Croix. He served the City of Burlington as an Alderman from 1976 to 1991 and was a longtime Member of the Burlington Golf and Country Club and a regular attender of the Parish Church of St. Luke. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Luke Anglican Church, 1371 Elgin Street, Burlington on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Interment Burlington Memorial Gardens, Burlington. For those wishing, memorial donations to the Scottish Rite Foundation, 4 Queen St. S., Hamilton, ON L8P 3R3, or Carpenter Hospice, 2250 Parkway Dr., Burlington, ON L7P 1T1, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family. A Masonic Service for Jack will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:00 p.m.
