BEHARRELL, Isabelle Margaret Anne (nee Grassie)

Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, on November 18, 2016. Loving wife of Allen for 11 years. Dear mother to Andrew Vance (Stefania), Dianne Everitt (Jim) and Susan Vance (Jean-Marc Serret). Cherished grandmother of David William, Marie Isabelle, Joseph James, Colleen Dianne and Andrew Allen. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Gertrude Grassie and by her brother Charles. She will be missed by her cousins Lois Jean and Margaret. Born in Grimbsy, spent her early childhood in Smithville and later youth in Port Colborne. She was always proud of her rural heritage. A nursing graduate of Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing, furthering her qualifications at the University of Western Ontario, she was a devoted caregiver through the Victorian Order of Nurses and later the Region of Peel. Deeply committed to her Christian faith, to the endless beauty of God's creation, to her husband Allen, and to her family. Loved and was loved by her grandchildren. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, reflected in stories and laughter joyfully shared. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Friday, November 25, 2016 from 3-7 pm. A Service of Remembrance will take place at Walton Memorial United Church, 2489 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville on Saturday, November 26 at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. For those who wish, donations in memory of Isabelle may be made to the Stroke Recovery Canada- Burlington Chapter (www.srcburlington.net).
