Peacefully in his sleep at Albright Manor, Beamsville on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in his 89th year. Dear and loving husband of the late Mary (nee Brylinski) (2008). Dear father of John and his wife Irene of Grimsby and Helen and her husband Robert Potruff of Stoney Creek. Cherished grandfather of Robert, Jenny, Janice, Michael, and great-grandchildren Chelsea and Kristyn. Predeceased by brothers Peter and Milian Ostaficzuk. Ilko worked at the town of Grimsby for over 20 years. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Special thanks to Dr. Peters, the nurses, staff and volunteers at Albright Manor on the 4th floor, dad loved them all.Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial at Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby. If desired, donations to Grimsby Benevolent Fund would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
