Obituary for Hugh Gray Coburn

COBURN, Hugh Gray - With the deepest of sorrows we announce the passing of Hugh Gray Coburn, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington on Saturday September 17, 2005. Beloved husband and friend of Margaret for forty-eight years. Devoted son of the late John Roy and Ida Mae Coburn and most tender and dearest Father of Heather Peever and her husband Ken, Wendy Coburn, Shaun Coburn and his wife Zully. Loving Grandfather of Callum, Scott and Robyn Peever and Carlos and Emilio Coburn. A cherished youngest sibling of the late Allen, Callum, Roy , Miriam and survived by eldest brother John. A graduate of McMaster University (1954) and the University of Toronto (1955), Hugh was an employee of Electric Reduction Co., Buckingham, Quebec and a retiree of Procter and Gamble, Hamilton. Dedicated endlessly to family and community, Hugh was a Red Cross driver for 11 years, on the Board of Carey House, a member of the Burlington Choral Society and Appleby United Church where he was also a longtime choir member. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of the QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Appleby United Church, 4407 Spruce Avenue, Burlington on Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at 11 a.m. The Reverend Carolyn Miller officiating. Interment will take place at Kirkwall Presbyterian Churchyard. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
