Obituary for Hilda Hunter

It is with much sadness we announce the passing of Hilda Hunter of Burlington, formerly of Hamilton, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Saturday, November 20, 2010. Predeceased by her loving husband, William James in 2000. Loving and loved mother of Susan and Paul Preston of Burlington and Merrill and Richard Sully of Melbourne, Australia. Grammy will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Leanne and Scott Morgan, Mark Preston, Alyson and Michael Johnson, Susan and Siona Wulf and William Sully. She was a very special GG to Jessica and Bradley Morgan, Ryan and Lauryn Johnson and Jaime and Michael Wulf. Predeceased by sisters Edna Zurbrigg and Harriett Brown. Hilda worshipped at Ryerson United Church, Hamilton, all her life and was a life member of the UCW, choir member for many years and teacher of Sunday School. She also volunteered for the Red Cross and the Cancer Society. A special thank you for the loving care given to Hilda by friends and staff at Park Avenue Manor. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, November 25, 2010 from 12 noon until time of the Service of Remembrance in the Chapel at 1 pm. Rev. Ted Vance officiating. Cremation has taken place, and a private family interment will take place at Hamilton Cemetery at a later date. The family would appreciate memorial donations to Ryerson United Church (Hamilton) or the charity of your choice.
