Obituary for Helmut Bader

Bader, Helmut Gottlieb-

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, at McNally House, Grimsby, Helmut completed the journey through his very full life which began in Germany on May 7, 1929. He is survived by his beloved Marianne (Munz), his wife and best friend of 58 years and his loving and grateful children: Christine (Guenter) Deess of Grimsby, Heidi (Hank) Bergman of London and Rodney (Karen) Bader of Grimsby. Much loved Opa of Daniel, Jenna and Kristy Bader. Their lives have been shaped by Opa's strength and integrity. Dear brother of Ida and Lotte of Germany. Predeceased by his beloved grandson, Nicholas Bader and siblings Emil, Maria, Hedwig and Elsa. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 and was the proud founder of Fruitland Tool & Mfg. in Stoney Creek. He was an active member of the Germania Club for 45 years. He loved to hunt big game and travel. He was fortunate to have traveled to many countries with his wife and friends. To respect Dad's wishes, there will be a private family cremation, service and interment. For friends and associates, please gather with us for food, drink and shared memories to celebrate his wonderful life on Thursday, November 4, 2010, at the Casablanca Winery Inn, 4 Winward Drive, Grimsby, from 3-8 pm. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, remembrances in his honour may be made to McNally House or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff on C Ward at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, the Niagara West Palliative Care Team and staff and volunteers at McNally House for making his last days comfortable.
