Passed away peacefully, at The Carpenter Hospice, Burlington, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Helena for 26 years. Loving father of Eva Plecke (Joe) and step-father of Maggie Zmijak-Derkowski and the late Richard Zmijak. Proud grandfather of Joanna (Mitt Stehelin) and Mike Plecke, and Casimir, Zachary and Jesse Derkowski. Cherished great-grandfather of Jackson Plecke and Sofia and Emilio Stehelin. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 9:30am until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:30 am. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. For those who wish, donations in memory of Hans to The Carpenter Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
