Obituary for Gordon Alan Roeder

Gordon Alan Roeder
ROEDER, Gordon Alan
Lovingly surrounded by family and friends throughout his entire illness, Gord was at peace when he passed away at home on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He joins his daughter, Lisa who predeceased him in 2004. Gord leaves to mourn his passing, his loved and loving wife Nan (MacLean) his beloved daughter Carolyn Pucan (Jerry) of whom he was so proud, his son-in-law Bill George and the four grandchildren he cherished; Matt and Katie George, Meghan and Annie Pucan. He will be dearly missed by his brother Robert (Dagmar), his sisters-in-law Barbara Johnston (Jim), Janice Kron (Helmut), Diane Williamson (Bryan) and his many nieces and nephews. His family meant everything to him. It is difficult to truly thank the many family members, friends and neighbours whose care, compassion and support carried us as we progressed through Gord’s journey with cancer. A special thank-you to Dr. Michael Foster, Dr. Ian Hodson and his radiation team at Juravinski, Karen Biggs, Nutritionist also at Juravinski, Occupational Therapist, Carole Hall and St. Elizabeth Visiting Nurses, in particular, Mary O’Gorman. Service of Remembrance will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Friends are welcome to gather for a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Reception to follow service. Private cremation has taken place. Should you wish, the family would suggest that donations in Gord’s memory be made to Edgewood Camp & Conference Centre, 49 Memorial Street, Eden Mills, Ontario N0B 1P0, or to a charity of your choice.
