CARTHER, Glen Howard
Passed away peacefully at the age of 75, at the Carpenter Hospice in Burlington on February 16, 2006, after a courageous three year battle with lung cancer. Cherished husband and soul mate of Louise for 53 years. Loving father of Sandra and Nigel Cox, Kevin and Deborah Carther and Greg and Carol Carther. Wonderful grandfather to Tara, Alison, Laura, Anthony, Joshua and Alexandra. Glen`s life work was in the insurance industry and he retired as the owner of Robert C. Davis Insurance in Waterdown, Ontario. Glen was a member of the Beverly Golf and Country Club in Copetown, Ontario as well as the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and "foursomes"in both Ontario and Florida. The family will welcome friends on Sunday, February 19, 2006 from 3-5 p.m. at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333). A Private Family Service will be held on Monday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carpenter Hospice, 2250 Parkway Drive, Burlington, Ontario L7P 1T1 (905-631-9994), or the Canadian Cancer Society in Memory of Glen.
