Monachino, Filippo (March 28, 1920- February 27, 2010)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Filippo Monachino, one month shy of his 90th birthday. Loving husband for 58 years of Rose and cherished father and father-in-law of Joseph and Angela, John and Rosemary. Adored grandfather of Rose, Catherine, Victoria, Christina, Philip and Rose- Andria.
Predeceased by parents Giuseppe and Santina Monachino and father and mother-in-law Giovanni and Giuseppina Attardo. Filippo was the last surviving sibling of five brothers and a sister whom he missed dearly: Giovanna (Saverio), Calogero (Lila), Francesco (Stefana), Salvatore (Concetta-surviving), Alfonso (Rosaria-surviving), Frank (Concettina) Monachino.
Survived by his Attardo brothers and sisters-in-laws, fondly enjoying the numerous family gatherings over the years: Joseph (deceased) and Dolly, Michael and Mimi, Sam and Mirella, Frank and Pina.
Admired uncle to many nephews and nieces in Italy, the United States and Canada, which include godchildren Joseph (Santina) Monachino and Daniella (Jeffery) Campbell.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Monday and Tuesday from 5 - 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 196 Kenwood Ave., Burlington on Wednesday, March 3,2010 at 11 am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum.
