Evelyn Ishbel Brand (nee Leslie)
Peacefully passed away, at The Carpenter Hospice in Burlington, Ontario on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the age of 81. Beloved wife of David Brand. Dear sister of late Claire, late Weldon, Willow, Freda, and Evan. She will be deeply missed by her step-children Jim (Helen), Dave (Laurie), Sandie (Sam), and Bunny (Geoff), nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our sincere thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Carpenter Hospice. We are all so grateful for the time we were able to spend with Evy in such a caring and supportive environment. We will all miss Evy’s eternal optimism, her selfless nature and the pure goodness of her heart. The world could use more like her. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333), on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 12 noon until a Service of Remembrance at 1:00pm. In following with Evy’s wishes cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Carpenter Hospice would be appreciated.
