Obituary for Ethel Isabel MacDonald (Croft)

Ethel Isabel MacDonald (Croft)
MacDonald, Ethel (nee Croft)-

Ever so Gently, as only God does, she was lifted from mortality to immortality peacefully with her children by her side at Creekway Village Nursing Home, Burlington, on January 10, 2015, at the age of 87. Mom was born in North Bay and lived in Toronto most of her early years until moving to Alberta, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and finally home to Ontario. She was a true Canadian with friends across the county because of Dad’s career and adventuresome spirit. She loved the Lord and prayed endlessly for her children and those she came to know. We will miss her calls, laughter, spunk, sense of humor, compliments, cheering, acceptance, gratitude, thankfulness, giving heart and her warm loving looks and embraces. Predeceased by beloved husband Ronald (2008). Loving mother of Brenda Cowan (Tim), Clyde MacDonald (Zeta), Glen MacDonald (Dale), and Karen Bradbury (Don). Devoted grandmother of Shanene (John), Neisha (Aaron), Jenica (fiancée Marek), Taysha (Matt), Michelle (Rob), Salem (Jenn), David (April), Glenn, Kindra (Stewart), Kyle, Caileigh, Angela, and Allison (Fiancée Livan) and proud great-grandmother of 18. Dear sister to Don Croft (Ellen) of Cambridge, and the late Barbara Smith (late Don). A special thank-you to the staff of Creekway Village for the exceptional care and love Mom received. Visitation will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333, on Saturday, January 16, 2015 from 12 noon until the time of a Funeral Service at 1:00pm. Interment to immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St Clair Ave W, Toronto). If desired, donations to your charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
