Passed away peacefully, at Arbour Creek Long Term Care Centre, on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in his 91st year. Beloved husband and best friend of Kathleen "Kay" (nee Lafferty) for 68 years. Best Dad ever to Ernie Jr. (Judy), Brenda Kubal (Larry), Brock (Sherrie) and Linda Davies. Poppa of Chris, Jenn Ernest (Kevin), Brad (Melissa), Kate Quigley (Paul) and Sarah, Bonnie and Liza Kubal and great-grandpa of Jessica Ernest and Ben Quigley. Ernie was a long time employee of Firestone. Ernie touched many lives with his ever present smile and his gentle manner. He will forever be remembered for his sense of humour and love of his family. He will be missed by many. Many thanks to Dr. Hornich and all of the nurses and caregivers at Arbour Creek for your special care of "Sweet Young Ern". Heartfelt thanks also are extended to the "angels" at the VON Adult Day Program for providing Ernie with exceptional care, dignity and quality of life in dealing with Alzheimers. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm, where Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 1 pm.
