Obituary for Ema Linczenyi

Linczényi, Ema (nee Cizik)
Ema Linczényi, 90, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at Mount Nemo Christain Nursing Home, on Sunday, December 26, 2010. She is predeceased by her husband, Ludovit Linczényi, Ph.D., and her younger son Igor. She is survived by her older son, Ludovit Jr. and dear friend Janet Bruce, both of Albany, N.Y.
She was born in Czechoslovakia, became a teacher, married, and was uprooted along with her husband in 1948. They moved to Canada, beginning a long period of exile from their native land.
From 1956 until her retirement she worked for Radio Free Europe in Munich, Germany for a cause to which she was deeply dedicated. Her Burlington retirement years were lived happily in the constant company of her younger son.
Special thanks to the staff of Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home for their competence and compassionate care to Ema.
Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, (one block north of City Hall) BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333) on Thursday, December 30, 2010 from 4-6 p.m. with prayers at 5:30 p.m. Private interment. For those who wish, donations in memory of Ema may be made to Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home.
