Obituary for Edward Rivers
Rivers, Edward John (Sr.)-
Died peacefully at the Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton, on Thursday, December 8, 2005, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Ed Rivers, of Grimsby, former Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus, Grimsby Chapter, at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife Lillian, daughters Judy and her husband Marc Rodrigues of Ajax, Teresa and her husband Steve Quilty of Newmarket, Wendy and her husband Art Robson of Scarborough, son Ed Rivers Jr. of Grimsby and daughter Michelle Rivers of Victoria, B.C.. He will be fondly missed by grandchildren Matthew, Stephanie, Carly, Krista, Connie, Cheryl and Shawn. Brother of John Speare and Walter Speare and their families of Hamilton. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Juravinski Cancer Centre and the staff on Ward 396 at Henderson Hospital. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 MOUNTAIN STREET, GRIMSBY, (905-945-2755) on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Josephs Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on Monday, December 12, 2005, at 11 am. Private interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or the Leukemia Research Fund of Canada would be appreciated by the family. Vigil service Sunday at 3 pm at the Funeral Home.
