Macintosh, Edna Lillian (nee Crabbe)
Originally of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed peacefully at Ottawa Hospital, December 20, 2010 following a brief illness, in her 87th year. Edna was the cherished and beloved wife of the late Rev. Alistair John Macintosh and dearly loved mother of Kevin (Jennifer) of Ottawa and Karla (Bill) Portengen of Newmarket, Ontario. Proud and loving Nana to Andrew, Nicholas, Kurtis and Zara; cherished sister of Rev. John Crabbe of Fonda, New York. Edna lived a life founded in her deep Christian faith and her love and devoted support of Alistair and their ministry to seven United Church congregations spanning five provinces. More recently, Edna and Alistair enjoyed many happy retirement years in the Niagara region before Edna relocated to Ottawa following Alistair's passing in 2008 at the age of 91. Edna is pre-deceased by brother Ronald Crabbe of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Private family celebration will be held at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, GRIMSBY, ON (905-945-2755) on Thursday, December 23, 2010, and proceeding to Mount Osbourne Cemetery, Beamsville for interment.
