ROTHWELL, Edith Lorena
(nee Dagg)
Peacefully with her family by her
side at Joseph Brant Memorial
Hospital, Burlington, on Wednesday,
February 9, 2011 in her 91st year.
Loving wife of the late Wilbert
(Webb) Rothwell (2004). Cherished
mother of Bruce and his wife
Maureen of Burlington, the late
Brian (2002), daughter-in-law Milly (2005) and Dale (1978). She
will be sadly missed by her
grandchildren David, Jim, Neil,
Craig, Steve, Sandi, Debbie and
Cally. 10 great-grandchildren and
many nieces and nephews. Loved
sister of Kenneth Dagg (Lillian) and
Ellard Dagg (Hope). She is
predeceased by her brother Roy
Dagg and sisters Edna Thibeault and
Iva Matson. Born in 1920 in
Portage-du-Fort, Quebec, her adult
life was shared between Timmins,
Cobalt and Burlington. Along the
way, she made many close and
lasting friendships. Edith was an
active member of the United Church
throughout her life. Edith had a
passion for bridge and enjoyed card/board games with her family
and friends. She was an active
member of the Burlington Seniors
Club and also enjoyed wonderful
summers at their trailer in Grand
Bend. Visitation at SMITH'S
FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant St. (one
block north of city hall) Burlington
(905-632-3333) on Monday 3-5 p.m.
and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service
will be held on Tuesday February 15,
2011 at 1 p.m. Commital service on Saturday February 19 2011 at 2 pm at the G. W. Hayes Funeral Home Shawville Quebec. Spring interment
in Portage-du-Fort Cemetery, Quebec. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes. Association would be greatly
appreciated by the family.
