Obituary for Dr. Donald Victor Catton
Catton, Donald Victor CD MD FRCP(C)
Passed away peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton, on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his parents Jane and Vic Catton and his wife Phyllis Leslie Garland, all of Grimsby. Survived by his wife Eileen. Father of David (Nancy Hitchcock), Ian (Cathy Neilly), and Richard (Jennifer Luoma). Grandfather of Laurel (Paul Minten), Scott, Brian (Jaycee Kameka), Heather (Tyler Freeman), Alex, and Zack. Great-grandfather of Brayden, and Kendall. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Catton. Donald joined the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) while attending the University of Western Ontario Medical School. He served for several years in the RCAF, Regular Forces and Reserves, as a Medical Officer. Donald was a professor of medicine at McMaster University Medical School for many years, while running his private practice. He also had an integral part in helping further the practice of anesthesiology in Hamilton. A respected husband, father, grandfather, physician, and friend. He will be missed. Following Donald's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.
