Passed away peacefully at McNally House, Grimsby, on Monday, January 25, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Donna, age 74, lived in Grimsby for the past 10 years, in Lindsay and Thunder Bay prior to that and spent her early years in Fort Frances in northern Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Frank and sister Eunice Gillespie. Donna leaves behind her daughter Patti (Bruce) Atkinson of Grimsby and son Mike Williams (Alison Shannon) of Jerseyville. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; Drew and Ben Atkinson and Jaime, Jeffrey, Alex and Daniel Williams. Dear sister of Milly Ward (Stan) of Fort Frances, Cheryl Lafond of St. Catharines and Roy Hendrickson (Donna) of Seattle, Washington. Donna enjoyed her grandson's sporting and school events, spending time with family and her Wentworth Drive friends, gardening and volunteering at West Lincoln Hospital and the Grimsby Benevolent Fund. Cremation has taken place. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010, at 11am, at Trinity United Church, 100 Main Street West, Grimsby. The family wishes to thank Dr. Tom Kouroukis, Karen and staff at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, Dr. Mary O'Dea for her support and compassion, Dr. Denise Marshall and the caring, generous staff and volunteers at McNally House.
