Obituary for Donna Susan Sproule (Chinnick)
SPROULE, Donna (nee Chinnick) -
Passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the age of 89. Predeceased by her devoted husband Henry “Harry” Sproule (March, 2008). Loving mother of Dr. Susan Sproule and her partner Ron Barr of Oakville, Ben Sproule and his wife Susan Craven of Burlington, and Bob Sproule and his wife Anne of Toronto. Cherished grandma of Ally Greenspan (Jared) and Maggie Sproule. Dear sister of Richard Chinnick (Lorna) of Port Elgin, the late Patricia McKinstry (Cecil) of Nova Scotia and the late Betty Jones (Vernon) of British Columbia. Donna will also be missed by extended family, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, and spent many years painting, creating stained glass, and working with ceramics at her home in Burlington and at the family cottage in Sauble Beach. Donna had a passion for traveling and loved adventure. She took up skydiving and did the EdgeWalk at the CN Tower on her 85th birthday. Private Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations in Donna’s memory to the Wellness House through the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street, BURLINGTON, (905-632-3333).
