It is with deep sadness and grieving hearts that we announce the passing of our most loving and unforgettable wife, mother and nonna, Dea Di Vitantonio. She passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, in her 83rd year. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Giulio of 48 years and her adoring children; Giuliana (Ugo), Costantino, Mirella and Marisa (Joe). Nonna will be deeply missed by her loving grandchildren Alicia, Sarah, Joey and Gianluca. Dear sister of Vanda Celeste (Bruno), Fernada Di Marchi (Augusto) and Anna Maria Sacchetti (Giuseppe) and sister-in-law of Bettina Chiaravalle, Paolo Di Vitantonio (Lillian), Brigida Ciprietti (Luigi), Gino Di Vitantonio (Isa), Ezio Cappelloni, Yvonne Chiaravalle, Minotto Celeste and Ines Di Vitantonio. Predeceased by her siblings Tony Chiaravalle, Salve and Attilio Angelone, Nina Celeste, Giovanna Cappelloni, Gigi, Gianni and Pio Chiaravalle and brother-in-law Alessio Di Vitantonio. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy and the United States. Dea was an extraordinary woman with incredible style, grace and talent. She was born in Bologna, Italy and worked as a dress designer in a fashion house in Modena, Italy. She came to Canada at the age of 32 and met the love of her life, Giulio. Together they built an empire of love. Her greatest joy was raising her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to ensuring the happiness of her family. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and will never be forgotten. Special thanks to all of the wonderful nurses who cared for Dea at her home. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Prayer Vigil Friday at 8:30 pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at 10 am. Interment Mountview Gardens. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
