At Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital on Thursday, April 15, 2010, Dawn Hastings (nee Hoskins) passed away peacefully, with family by her side, after a lengthy, courageous battle with cancer. Devoted and loving mother of Jennifer and Darren of Burlington, dear sister of Doug and Carole Hoskins of Dalton, Georgia, beloved aunt of Trisha (Steve) of Georgia, Warren (Eden) of Tennessee and James (Melissa) of Montana and all their children. She was a wonderful friend to Carol Neville, Sue Amos and Barb Rust. Born in Chatham, Ontario, she has been a resident of Burlington for 44 years, working for the Halton District School Board as a teacher, a Special Education Coordinator and a school principal. Dawn lived her life with grace, dignity and a generous spirit. She will be remembered by her family and friends with love. A special thank you to the palliative care team at Joseph Brant Hospital. Visitation is at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 3 through 5 pm as well as 7 through 9 pm.
