September 29, 1930 - February 12, 2017
Peacefully at his home with his wife and daughters by his side on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Biscaro) for almost 64 years. Loving father of Ann (Paul Koritko) and Laura (Frank Syer). Cherished Nonno of Jennifer Nicholson (Adam), Brent (Michelle), Mark (Stefanie), Michael (Lindsay), Sarah (Markian) and Great-Nonno of Braeden, Ava and Makayla. Loved brother of Angelo “Gerrado” of Burlington and sister Speranza of Italy. Predeceased by his parents Umberto and Teresa and siblings Luigi, Maria, Giovanni, twin Tarcisio and Rosaria. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. He was a lifetime member of the Caruso Club. Corrado was an avid gardener, loved his wine making, led an active lifestyle, was very social with his friends, but his greatest love and devotion was to his family. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2265 Headon Road, Burlington on Thursday, January 16, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. Private Cremation. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. A heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff of Tansley Woods Retirement Community, St. Elizabeth’s nurses and all the PSWs from CCAC who gave so much of themselves to Corrado. Special thanks also to Dr. Jerome for her compassionate care.
