Passed away at The Village of Tansley Woods on Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Loving husband of Nellie. Predeceased by his first wife Johanna (1988). Devoted father to Hendrina Daechsel, Cornelius Peters, Gerardus Peters (Jun), Jacqueline Peters (Amanda), and Caroline Bannon (Doug). Step father to Jozef (Belinda), Elisabeth (Derek), Gerardus (Suzanne), Martinus (Rhonda) and Mary (David). He will be missed by his 27 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is survived by his 2 sisters, 2 brothers and their families in The Netherlands. His sister in law in Canada and pre deceased by his sister and 4 brothers. Thank you to all the staff at Tansley Woods for their wonderful care.


Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Sunday from 6-9pm . Vigil prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church (2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington) on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
