Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Sunday, October 3, 2010 in her 72nd year. Bertha, beloved wife and best friend of the late Fred Erwood. Loved mother of Brenda Dafoe and her husband Mike, and Randy Erwood and his wife Sherry, all of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Amanda, Matthew, Danny, Michael, Christopher, Steven, and Ashleigh. Loved sister of Ron Secord and his wife Annette of St. Catharines, and sister-in-law of Jane Howe and her husband Alan of Hamilton, and Daniel Erwood and his wife Donna of Brantford. Fondly remembered by her niece Jennifer Valley (Pierre) and their family, and nephews Jeffrey Howe, and David Secord. A special thank you to Dr. S. Naidoo, the nurses at Joseph Brant, Sue at CCAC, and the staff at Park Avenue Manor for all the care they provided. A Service of Remembrance will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stop light north of QEW) BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home.
