Bertha Hermine "Germaine"  Chiasson (Aucoin)
Bertha Hermine Chiasson – November 28th, 1927 – April 4th, 2016.
Hermine Chiasson, 88, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2016 at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Born in St. Joseph du Moine, she was the daughter of the late Patrick (à Joe) Aucoin and Marie-Belle (Minnie) Deveau.
She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford (à Émilien) Chiasson. She leaves behind, her children: Angela Somerville (Jeff) Halifax, Nova Scotia; Cathie Rogers (Michael Mike), St Catharines, Ontario; Donna Masson (Don) Burlington, Ontario; and David (Dundas, Ontario). Loving Mémère to her Grandchildren; Erin James (Benjamin) Moscow, Idaho; Lee Munro (Erin Marranca) (Burlington, Ontario), Jason Mike (Toronto, Ontario), Brad Mike (Natalie) Halifax, Nova Scotia; Andrea Chiasson (Oakville, Ontario), Jessica Chiasson (Oakville, Ontario). Great-grandchildren; Freddie James and Elliot Mike. Sisters; Elizabeth (Waltham, Massachusetts), Stella Chiasson (Chéticamp, Nova Scotia) and Catherine Aucoin (Chéticamp, Nova Scotia). Brothers; Philias (Chertsey, Québec) and Gerard (St. Joseph du Moine, Nova Scotia).
We are at peace knowing Mom is reunited with Dad. As well, with her brothers; Freddie and Léo. Sisters; Therese, Lucy May and Celina.
She will be missed by her large extended family and many friends and remembered for her devotion to her faith, her warm smile and love of baking. She spent her recent years at Lakeshore Place Retirement Residence in Burlington, Ontario.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line, (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 3-6 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in her native community of St. Joseph du Moine, Nova Scotia also at a later date.
