God took an angel, but left a guiding light. It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Mary Wintonyk after a courageous battle with cancer, with her loving family by her side, on Friday, November 12, 2010. She left to be reunited with her parents; Leokadia and Florian Grzegorzewicz. Survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Bob, children; Krys Carte (Dan) of Stoney Creek, Robert (Vanessa Gilmour) of Hamilton, Kevin (Lindsey West) of Hamilton and step-son Josh (Angela) of Petewawa. Cherished grandmother of Davin and Connor Carte and Sierra and Colby Wintonyk. Daughter-in-law of Angeleen Wintonyk of Hamilton. Niece of Herman Gregor. Barb will be sadly missed by many friends, as she touched many lives with her contagious smile and disposition. Special thanks to the nursing staff on Ward C3 and E3 at Juravinski Hospital. Visitation at SMITH'S FUENRAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 3-5 and 6-9 pm., where Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 1 pm. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. Cremation. If desired, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
