It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Antonino D'Amico at the Hamilton General Hospital on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the age of 73. Survived by his loving wife Antonietta (nee D'Amico) of 47 years. Much loved father of Ida (Frank) and Franca. Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Ida, and brother Pasquale. Will be sadly missed by brother Rinaldo of Italy. Dear brother-in-law of Antonio and Ida Frabotta (both deceased), Domenico and Maria D'Amico, Michele and Carmela Frate (both deceased), Mario (deceased) and Eugenia D'Amico, and Alfonso (deceased) and Maria D'Amico. Loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Italy and U.S.A. Antonino was retired from Stelco where he worked as a bricklayer for 26 years. He was the kindest, most generous man who loved helping others and was always there for his family. We were very lucky to have him as a husband, father, brother and friend. He had a heart of gold and unconditional love for his family. He will be missed by all. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to family and friends for the compassion and warmth shown to our family during Antonino's illness. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road), STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Saturday from 5-9 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Prayer Vigil Sunday at 8 pm at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 10 am. Entombment at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Burlington. If desired, donations to a charity of choice would be sincerely appreciated.
