Obituary for Allan Everett Lancefield

LANCEFIELD, Allan Everett (Ted) - On Tuesday, September 27, 2005, Ted Lancefield of Burlington passed away peacefully after a long illness, in his 87th year. Ted leaves daughters Cathy Henry, and Barb Masefield and her partner Dave Howard. Much loved Grandpa to Allan Ritchie, and Jared and Rachel Henry. Ted also leaves many relatives in the Toronto area, Ohio, British Columbia, and his special cousin Anne Slater of London, England. Ted was a proud member of the Essex Scottish Regiment, and cherished the reunions with friends he made while in active service in Europe in 1944-1945. Ted was a member of the Lodge of the Ancient Landmarks No. 654 Hamilton A.F. & A.M., Murton Lodge of Perfection, Hamilton and Hamilton Sovereign Chapter of Rose Croix. Visitation at SMITH`S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Thursday, September 29, 2005, 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at East Plains United Church, 375 Plains Road E., Burlington on Friday, September 30, 2005 at 11 a.m. eastplainsunitedchurch.on.ca Rev. Bruce Dickson officiating. Cremation to follow. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers at JBMH, 5-south. In lieu of flowers, as a former scout leader, Ted requested that donations be made to Scouts Canada, Hamilton Wentworth (Camp Nemo fund).
