Obituary for Alfonso Cherubin

Passed away peacefully, with his family by his side at his home on Monday, April 18, 2016 in his 88th year. Loved husband of Barbara Cherubin (nee Spadafora). Loving father of the late Antonio, Tony (the late Diane), Julia Naccarato (Nino) and Robert (Nancy). Cherished nonno of Anthony, Joshua, Drew-Mathew, Nadia, Raffaele, Michael, Claudia, Olivia and David. Beloved brother of Bruna (Eugenio) Broggi, Aurora (Romano) Pietra, Victoria (Dominic) Sanci, Angela (the late Renzo) Lucato, Amarillis (Esterina), Mario (Gloria), Bernadino (Katherine), and Francesco (Rosa). Predeceased by his brothers Ferruccio (survived by Elisa), Lino (the late Elsa) and Luigi. Missed also by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews of the Cherubin and Spadafora families. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to family, friends, the VON, CCAC, CBI, Seniors Homecare by Angels and Dr. Damji for their care and compassion. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or Parkinson Society Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
