Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Thursday, February 9, 2017 in his 85th year. Loved husband of Carol (nee Juniper) for over 58 years. Loving father of Sandra Buckenham (Onne de Boer), Karen Buckenham (Douglas Dziva), and Joanne Tessier (Gordon). Caring grandfather of David, Jennifer, Tapiwa and Tinashe. Predeceased by his son David, his daughter Lauren, his twin brother Alfie, and his sister Louise. Bert was a proud Canadian, lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Grimsby and sang in several Anglican church choirs. He will be missed by family, friends and feline family. Special thanks to the nurses and staff on 2A at St. Catharines General Hospital for their care and compassion. A Service of Remembrance will be held for Bert at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 156 Main Street West, Grimsby, on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. If desired, as an expression of sympathy, donations made to World Vision would be appreciated by the family.
