Obituary for Joan Laidman

Joan Laidman
Joan passed away in her 94th year, Thursday March 29th at The Brant Centre, Burlington Ontario. Joan was predeceased by her husbands Hilliard 'Red' Laidman (2014) and Ronald Peck (1970) and her daughter Deborah Neville (2009). Joan is survived by her family, John Peck (Lissa) and Sarah; Margaret Ludkin (Rick), Jeremy and Geoffrey; Richard Laidman (Edith), Brandy and Ryan; Jane Clementino (Carlo), Cole, Reid, Lucas and Idah and two great grandchildren, Olivia and Emily. Joan is also survived by her sister Barbara Patterson (Jack), brothers-in-law Bert Carter and Don Laidman and was predeceased by sisters Margaret Wing, Elizabeth 'Betty' Blythe and brother George Arnott. Joan and Red were married for over 40 years and successfully merged two families into one. Joan has lived in Hamilton, Dundas, Wiarton and Burlington and made many friends wherever she lived. Heartfelt thanks to Brenda Carbone for her friendship to Mum. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exemplary care that Mum received from all the caring staff at The Brant Centre over the last four years, with special mention to Amanda, Tony, Heathar, Suzie, Melissa and Robert all of whom Mum loved seeing every day. Thanks also to Dr. H. Singh for his sensible and compassionate care over the last four years. A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Joan’s Life will be held at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block North of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4 – 7 p.m. with memorial words to be shared at 6 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
