Obituary for David Wayne Hunt

David Wayne Hunt
David Hunt unexpectedly passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the age of 59. Beloved husband of Camilla Mullan-Hunt. Loving father of Nicole James (Bryan), Megan Hunt, and Braeden Hunt, and stepfather to Lauryn Mullan. Much loved son of Gord and Carole Hunt and dear brother of Suzanne Cherniak, and Julie Hunt. Dave will be sadly missed by all those who called him ‘Uncle Dave,’ his extended family and many friends.

He was a skilled automotive technician at Erin Dodge Chrysler, which he thought of as his second home, for 35 years. He shared many laughs and great times with co-workers, all of whom he regarded as dear friends, he will be missed.

He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, live music and was an avid sports enthusiast. Dave quickly became friends with anyone he met wherever he met them. Dave’s friends were his friends for life. He enjoyed spending time in Southampton, his and Camilla’s “happy place,” and would never miss the opportunity to simply enjoy a backyard barbeque with those he loved most because to him time spent with friends and family was the most important thing.

Dave was genuinely a good person and words cannot really describe what an amazing man he was. When you needed someone for anything he was there and he was always thinking of other people before he thought of himself. He had a great love for his family and truly was devoted to all of them. When he talked about them, you could tell how much really loved them all. Dave was the life of the party but it was because people were naturally drawn to his warmth, humour, caring and love for life. Dave’s love was unconditional and that is a trait we all aspire to.
