Malecki, Joseph "Joe"
Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Mary for 37 years. Loving father of Mike (Erin) and Michelle. Proud grandpa of Kayte and Ty. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Stefania, and brothers John, Ted (Judy) and Stan. Joe was a 32 year employee of Dofasco and long-time executive member of the Polish National Union Branch 17. Joe was a genius at the chess board, a master at the art easel and an eternal optimist at the black jack table. Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. Vigil prayers for Joe at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Polish Church, St. Ann Street, and Barton Street East, Hamilton, on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Burlington. Thank you to Joe's doctors and nurses, especially his cardiologist, Dr. Piran. For those who wish, memorial donations to the Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Joe's off the wall sense of humour will never be replaced.
