ALTON, Donald Mark -
October 26, 1933 - November 29, 2015

Surrounded by his loving family, Donald Mark Alton passed away at Joseph Brant Hospital on November 29, 2015. Recently diagnosed with ALS, Don fought valiantly. He is remembered by his dearly loved wife of 51 years, Marg (Smoke) Alton. He is survived by his brother Gordon Alton (Doreen), his in-laws Ruth Miller (Bob), Verna Parent (Ron) and Stan Smoke (Kay), and predeceased by sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marie and Jack Davidson. His many nieces and nephews and their children will miss their Uncle Don and will remember his wonderful sense of humour and his stories. His friends will miss chatting with him at Thursday morning coffee. Don is predeceased by his parents, Mark and Mae Alton and his sister Lois Harrison (Bill). Special thanks to the staff of CCAC, Joseph Brant Hospital, Dr. Turnbull from Hamilton Health Sciences, and family physician and friend Dr. Faught. The family also wishes to thank their neighbours, relatives, and friends for their compassion and acts of kindness. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON, 905-632-3333 on Friday, December 4, 2015 from 9:45 a.m. until time of Service in the Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Interment Waterdown Union Cemetery.
